COMPLIANCE
MPI Cooling Compliance — Explained
Raw milk must be cooled to specific temperatures within strict timeframes to comply with MPI rules. The Ice Tank is designed to meet all of them — consistently and reliably.
Milk must be cooled to 10 degrees C or below within 4 hours of the start of milking.
Milk must reach 6 degrees C or below within 6 hours of starting and within 2 hours of finishing.
It must be held at or below 6 degrees C until pickup or the next milking.
It must not exceed 10 degrees C during subsequent milkings.
Continuous milking? Milk must enter the vat at 6 degrees C or below if milking occurs for 6+ hours straight.
Pre-cooling helps reduce bacteria growth dramatically. Ice Tank makes that achievable — even in harsh rural conditions.
