MPI Cooling Compliance — Explained
Raw milk must be cooled to specific temperatures within strict timeframes to comply with MPI rules.
The Ice Tank is designed to meet all of them — consistently and reliably.
- a) Milk must be cooled to 10°C or below within 4 hours of the start of milking.
- b) Milk must reach 6°C or below within 6 hours of starting and within 2 hours of finishing.
- c) It must be held at or below 6°C until pickup or the next milking.
- d) It must not exceed 10°C during subsequent milkings.
- Continuous milking? Milk must enter the vat at 6°C or below if milking occurs for 6+ hours straight.
