Terms of Service
Effective May 2025
1. Agreement
These terms and conditions govern the provision of services by Sinclair Electrical Ltd ("we", "us", "our") to you ("you", "the customer"). By engaging our services, you agree to these terms.
2. Services
We provide electrical, solar, heat pump, refrigeration, and appliance repair services in the Taranaki region. All work is performed by qualified, registered tradespeople in accordance with New Zealand regulations.
3. Quotes and Pricing
- All quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
- Prices on our website are indicative and may vary based on site conditions.
- A written quote will be provided before work commences.
- Additional work discovered during a job will be communicated and approved before proceeding.
4. Payment Terms
- Payment is due on completion unless otherwise agreed.
- For larger projects, a deposit and progress payments may be required.
- We accept bank transfer, credit card, and EFTPOS.
- Overdue invoices may incur a late payment fee of 2% per month.
5. Warranties
- All workmanship is guaranteed for the period stated on your quote or invoice.
- Manufacturer warranties apply to all products we supply and install.
- Warranty claims should be directed to us — we will manage the process with the manufacturer.
- Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorised modification.
6. Cancellation
- You may cancel a booking with at least 24 hours notice at no charge.
- Late cancellations may incur a callout fee.
- For ordered products, cancellation terms depend on the supplier's policy.
7. Health and Safety
We comply with all NZ Health & Safety at Work Act requirements. We expect customers to provide safe access to work areas and notify us of any known hazards on their property.
8. Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of the services or products provided. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our liability does not extend beyond what is required under New Zealand consumer protection legislation.
9. Disputes
We aim to resolve any issues directly and promptly. If a dispute cannot be resolved between us, it may be referred to the Disputes Tribunal or other appropriate body under New Zealand law.
